ABOUT

I have always had a passion for woodworking and spent most of my childhood weekends in the shed with my dad building toys. At the age of 16 I decided to professionalise my passion.

My first experience working with violins started over 13 years ago at Merton College in South London. Straight after graduating I gained a place at J P Guivier London, one of Britain's foremost violin dealers and repairers, where I spent almost 5 years honing my skills to maintain the stringent standards the workshop and instruments demand.

After having worked on thousands of instruments, I wanted to set up my own client base. I now have a thriving workshop in South Manchester providing that same high quality craftsmanship you would find in London.

Having been one of the youngest violin luthiers to start their own business at the age of 23, I gained the confidence to move from violin repairing to making.

Many of my clients are professional musicians in the North of England, playing in renowned orchestras such as The Halle, BBC Philharmonic and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic; others are freelance musicians and students at the RNCM and Chetham's school of music.

After having shared a workshop with my friend Sam Wells, a double bass maker, I now have my own shop in Withington.

As someone who enjoys working with their hands, attention to detail and has a strong mind set, I have also developed into a passionate climber and mountaineer outside the workshop.
